“With this facility and CEC University’s training programs, our teammates can keep working during the day, then improve their careers through hands-on education in the evening,” said Dean of CEC University Fred McHugh. “Our leadership made sure to have the best training, the best curriculum, and the best environment for our teammates’ success.”
Located at the corner of Bear Creek Court and Valley View Drive, this 33,000-square-foot facility has a 100-person auditorium, multiple training rooms, hands-on learning stations, and labs. The center is supported by both national and regional industry educational organizations, NCCER and TDLR.
In addition to CEC’s University team, the Career & Technology Center houses human resources, project controls, BIM/VDC, and prefabrication. The prefabrication team will now have a larger footprint to increase support for the jobsite.
“If you are not investing in training your people, your company is at risk. This is the impetus for building this facility and establishing CEC University. Soon we will become the training headquarters for all our trades: electrical, mechanical, structure cable, infrastructure, plumbing, and more,” said Bradley Smith, President of CEC.
CEC offers full MEP, audio-visual, telecom, and long-haul fiber services. Based in North Texas, CEC provides construction and maintenance services throughout 22 states.
