BLOOMINGTON, MN — Aspen Equipment, a provider of custom truck equipment, heavy-duty cranes, and snow and ice control solutions, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Since its establishment in 1994, Aspen Equipment has been delivering custom-engineered products with a commitment to customer satisfaction. Over the past three decades, Aspen has grown as a distributor organization. The company’s sales teams focus on specific markets, allowing its staff to gain a better understanding of clients’ needs, desires, and businesses. “Aspen’s growth would not be possible without our hardworking employees and their commitment to providing quality products, timely deliveries, and exceptional product support,” said Mark Hoffmann, Vice President and General Manager of Aspen Equipment. “This is made possible with well-stocked parts departments and getting our service technicians the training they need to service equipment and providing top-notch customer service. We pride ourselves on providing value-added products and services that set the benchmark for excellence, and our customers have come to expect nothing less.”
Custom Truck Upfitter
In recent years Aspen has emerged as a provider in custom truck upfitting, offering a set of capabilities that cater to various industries and operational needs. With a focus on innovation and practical solutions, Aspen transforms standard commercial trucks into specialized vehicles designed to tackle specific challenges. The company’s custom upfitting capabilities are available across different sectors, including construction, utilities, forestry, and more. Aspen has the ability to customize solutions to the specific needs of its clients. Whether it is increasing the payload capacity or integrating specialized equipment, the company’s team of engineers and technicians work closely with customers to understand their workflow and deliver custom-made solutions. This client-centric approach ensures that the upfitting meets high standards of functionality and durability.
Work-Minded Foundation
Aspen was formed in 1994 as a division of Road Machinery & Supplies (RMS). However, the company’s roots date back to 1926 when RMS was established in Duluth, Minnesota. The company has been a key player in the rental, sale, installation, and service of truck equipment, serving industries such as electric utilities, general construction, government, fleet, and railroads. More recently, Aspen has expanded into the heavy crane market, offering Manitowoc crawler cranes, National Crane boom trucks, and Grove rough terrain cranes. While the primary customer base is concentrated in the Midwest, Aspen delivers products coast to coast and exports products globally. The company also provides financing options for its customers through relationships with national lease and finance companies. Aspen is supported by a sales staff with decades of experience, in-house engineering, CAD and support services, custom fabrication capabilities, a computerized parts network, a fleet of over 200 rental units, and a trade-in program that supports both new and used equipment sales. Aspen’s product lines include truck body and accessories, cranes, aerial platforms, snow and ice control equipment, and railroad hi-rail gear. The company carries a diverse inventory of ready-to-work equipment with five branch locations in the Midwest — Bloomington, Minnesota; the Quad Cities and Des Moines in Iowa; Omaha, Nebraska; and Kansas City, Missouri — along with factory-trained field service technicians that can perform repairs at Aspen branches or on customer job sites. Aspen became a division of MGX Equipment Services under Manitowoc Company’s ownership in September 2021. Manitowoc is a global manufacturer of lifting solutions and cranes. “We are excited to celebrate this significant milestone and express our gratitude for the trust and support from our customers, partners, and employees over the past 30 years," Hoffmann said. "We remain committed to continuing to provide exceptional products and services that set the standard in the industry for decades more."
